For RDS, this is the 3rd increase in as many years, which compounded is around 40% over that period.

What actions can SPLA partners take to reduce their costs?:

First, make sure you are paying list pricing for the SPLA SKUs you report. Many resellers mark up the cost of SPLA and often do it again when there is a price change. Book a quick call with us and we can tell you in 5 minutes if you are paying more than you should.

Second, make sure you’re not over reporting. Altaris’ SPLA License Assessment not only discovers under reporting but identifies areas of over reporting. Particularly with RDS and Office, we have found that many Service Providers don’t put access controls in place and as a result report a far higher quantity than they need to.
